What is Occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession that involves ongoing assessments to understand what everyday activities you can do and those you want to do, any current limitations, your current goals and motivations, and also offers advice and techniques on how to do something easier and safer. Occupational therapists (OTs) work with people across many different settings and prescribe devices to help you do the activities you want and need to do. They will make sure you can use the device in the best way to meet your needs. Occupational therapists are responsible for helping patients develop, recover, and improve in regards to a condition or injury, as well as maintain the skills needed to execute daily activities.
